Where it all started

Wearing his classic plaid shirt and blue jeans, “I’m just a past farmer” says Jerl founder, Bob Brossia. After a few differences with management at his previous employer, Bob gathered his resources in 1973 and purchased a mill, a lathe, and a small shop. Over the next 47+ years, Bob was able to create a secure family atmosphere for hundreds of employees. Bob’s unstoppable commitment to quality certainly positioned Jerl Machine as a trusted source for precision machining and custom metal fabrication. With integrity, compassion, and his unmatched work ethic, Bob has built something really amazing here for a lot of people.

Today you’ll find Bob cruising about the shop, offering a helpful hand or having a cup of coffee with a long time employee, now friend. Or maybe he’s out on the lake fishing for his next big catch. Bob is also an equestrian hobbyist and avid golfer.

From everyone here at Jerl Machine past and present, we thank you Bob for all of your hard work, dedication, compassion and grit.

Expanding our efforts

By 1975, Jerl was well on it’s way to becoming a well known local manufacturer with Bob at the helm. As the jobs continued to roll in, shop space was quickly running out. To keep up with customer demands Bob invested in multiple building expansions, to continue satisfying our customers needs.

What Jerl Machine looks like today

A few years after our expansion, Bob noticed that space was once again becoming scarce, but there were no signs of slowing down. Bob has always approached growth with the upmost seriousness and made the decision to purchase an 80,000sqft. facility in Perrysburg, Ohio in November of 2000.

Jerl Machine will continue to hold it’s stance as a leading manufacturer in precision machining and custom metalworking.
